Product Designer Job Description:
Product designers are in charge of the entire product creation process. They are ultimately responsible for discovering and defining a problem, and then empathically designing a solution. The skills that a product designer must have range from technical to human-centered design. Product designers take part in user research, prototyping, visualization, testing, analyzing, and communicating.
Job Responsibilities:
- Employ your strength in storytelling to present your vision and design rationale in a compelling, convincing manner to the wider team.
- Conduct concept and usability testing and gather feedback.
- Create personas through user research and data.
- Evaluate, establish, and apply best practices, patterns, and guidelines.
- Develop wireframes and prototypes around customer needs.
- Find creative ways to solve UX problems (e.g. usability, findability).
- Communicate design ideas and prototypes to developers.
- Keep abreast of competitor products and industry trends.
- Develop a core understanding of our user personas, and their challenges and needs across all products.
Job Qualification/Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in a design-related field
- Strong portfolio of design projects.
- You have proven experience designing at consumer-focused tech companies or digital agencies – a minimum of 3 years.
- You have a user-focused design mentality.
- You enjoy solving problems, for all kinds of users.
- You are constantly looking to hone your executions through user feedback.
- Proficient in design software (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Axure, Balsamiq).
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS; JavaScript is a plus.
