Laboratory Analyst Job Description:
As a Laboratory Analyst, you will be responsible for providing analytical sample processing and data review to support S•O•SSM Services initiatives. The successful incumbent will use a variety of analytical techniques and wet chemistry to process oil, fuel, source water and/or coolant samples submitted by customers. Engineers and dealers use results to manage equipment preventive maintenance schedules.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct laboratory evaluation of samples (oil, fuel, coolant/source water).
- Operate and implement analytical lab instrumentation.
- Properly maintain laboratory instruments and dealing with malfunctions thru basic troubleshooting.
- Maintain and manage accurate and precise documentation.
- Review data on computer following standard operating methods.
- Update and calibrate lab analysis instrumentation.
- Conduct regular updating of records and develop reports.
- Support LEAN Six Sigma Initiatives to improve process and products.
Requirements/Experience/ Skills:
- 4 -year degree in chemistry or related field (biology, biochemistry, chemical engineering, etc.)
- 4 years direct lab experience. Oil Laboratory experience is a plus.
- Laboratory skills.
- Instrument Troubleshooting skills.
- Critical thinking, time management, decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Computer skills.
- ISO 9001 or ISO 17025 Experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience and willingness to operate in a TEAM environment.
