Job Description
As Customs Supervisor at Unipart Logistics you will be responsible for leading a team of 5 – leading and planning the daily activities, and supervising, training, and advising in areas of Customs regulations and operational excellence.

Job Responsibilities
- Maintain a high level of expertise in all areas of Saudi Customs regulations, includingcustoms clearance processes, classification and valuation
- Perform regular review of trade publications as well as attend all customs sponsoredseminars in assigned area
- Perform audit review on all assigned brokerage files and payments to customs
- Maintain and keep current all customs compliance documentation
- Initiate and develop written procedures, as assigned, including billing, classifications, valuation rules, schedule of fees, Customs correspondence, post entry process, and any other related information
- Manage the appropriate databases to reflect these procedures
- Receive, review, and process high-volume and/or complex import transactions for the high-end technology client, including the classification and valuation of goods when required
- Process documents through the Company s systems, obtaining Customs clearance and other government agency releases as appropriate
- Review and monitor all Customs rejections, requests for information from the client and any other government agency, and other correspondence
- Adhere to all domestic and international shipping regulations
- Communicate with client, co-workers, and managers in a clear, concise, and timely manner
- Provide excellent and timely customer service, under the limited supervision and advice of the department Manager, by proactively informing client of the status of shipments and referring client to a higher-level authority when questions are beyond scope of responsibility
- May identify transactions and tasks that require special handling, recommend improved processes to management, and implement resolutions within assigned scope of responsibility
- Provide feedback to team members and assist with their development
- Ensure the team are working in a healthy and safety environment and maintain a positive wellbeing culture
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines, such as the Code of Conduct, assigned work schedules, and attendance requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Citizen of Saudi Arabia; at least 5 years Customs experience in KSA; fluent in Arabic and good standard of English
- Must successfully complete the broker course from Saudi Customs Academy
- Successfully complete on-site systems training by a qualified team member
- Actively improve knowledge of Saudi Customs Regulations regarding Customs Brokers and the Customs clearance process, classification and valuation rules through self-study, regular review of trade publications, and attendance at all approved external seminars and at applicable courses and seminars presented or assigned by the Company
- Very good verbal communication skills and past customer service experience are required, as work includes email and phone contact with carriers, client and intra company as well as other parties concerning the import and export process
- Very good written communication skills to compose complex letters regarding Customs problems and proposed resolutions – must have the ability to edit and proof business correspondence and reports
- The ability to organize, prepare, and assemble documents or reports containing data from several sources
- The ability to use Company-standard software for word processing, spreadsheets, etc., to generate more elaborate reports, charts, and graphs as applicable
- The knowledge required to perform the functions of an import and export Specialist
- Excellent judgement
