Biomedical Engineer Job Description:
Design equipment and devices, such as artificial internal organs, replacements for body parts, and machines for diagnosing medical problems. Install, maintain, or provide technical support for biomedical equipment. Collaborate with manufacturing staff on the safety and effectiveness of biomedical equipment.
Responsibilities:
- To attend Breakdown calls and carry out repairing of Medical Equipment.
- To oversee the installation and commissioning of all new medical equipment in the hospital.
- Fix the Preventive maintenance schedule and monitor the timely completion to ensure the upkeep of all equipments to its proper and uninterrupted working performance
- To provide operating training of equipments, to end-users and evaluate the effectiveness of training
- Work collaboratively with nursing and ancillary staff to solve problems in a fair, consistent manner.
- Investigate incident reports pertaining to Biomedical Department
- Prepares requisitions for spare parts procurement from stores/manufacturer.
- Develop new program proposals as needed / requested including budgetary as well as operations components.
Requirements/Experience/ Skills:
- Degree in Bio-Medical Engineering
- Careful measurement and analysis skills
- Attentive to details
- Excellent verbal communication with patients, medical staff, other engineers.
- 3 to 5 years experience in a hospital set up.
- Excellent command of oral and written English to read and understand technical literature and schematics.
- Knowledge in Arabic is desirable but not essential.
